Today's Topic:
Oh, the dilema, the dilema

Trust politics to make me start posting again. Evil, evil politics. Tomorrow, I must go to vote and help decide the (sorry) fate of my country for the next four (or possibly less, if we get a minority government) years. It's too much... I don't know if I can handle the responsibility. What if I vote for the wrong party? Oh, the stress, the tension.
Kidding. I know what I want.
I DON'T BLOODY WANT STEVEN HARPER TO BE OUR PRIME MINISTER!!!!!!! I mean, really, really don't. I don't like him. Ever since the last election, he has just put my teeth on edge and can never redeem himself in my books unless he gets a brain transplant, personality transplant and quits politics. Don't want him in power. Have I paid attention to what he stands for? Not really. Do I have a clue about what he says he's going to do for our country. Of course not. I don't like him. I want to punch my telelvision every time I see him on it. I do recall his previous campagne, though, and firmly believe that a man, let alone a political party, can't change that drasticly in just a few short years. I didn't like him then, I am determined not to like him again. I'm liberal in nature, I don't want a conservative government.
So, the Liberals then? Hmmmmmmmmm. In my opinion, they have been in power for much too long. I mean, it's nice to shake things up a bit and have a different government every twenty years or so. Well, okay, 13 years if I actually stop to do the math, since Mulroney retired in 1993. It'll be nice to shake the Liberals up a tad and let them know that they actually have to earn the confidence of the Canadian public. Plus, with the whole sponsership scandal and the fact that I also kinda dislike Paul Martin (though not as much as Steven Harper), I'm kind of loathe to vote Liberal.
Maybe NDP? I don't mind them, actually. Though, they make the same old arguments as everyone else. "Health care, blah blah, tax reduction, blah blah." I don't know if I particularly like Jack Layton either, but I think I may like him a bit better than the other two viable candidates for PM. But, there in lies the problem. Are the NDP really a viable candidate for Prime Minister? Maybe in a few years, but not now. The public just doesn't seem to have enough confidence in them yet. So, we have one major conservative party and two major liberal-ish parties in Canada. Even if most canadians vote liberal-ish, the NDP (for the time being) serves only to split the liberal vote up and that gives a huge advantage to the conservatives. We could still end up with a Conservative government, despite the fact that most people vote liberal-ish. Is a vote for NDP a vote for Harper? God, I hope not.
I think this year, it's not a question of voting for who I want, it's a question of voting to make sure that BLOODY STEVEN HARPER ISN'T OUR PRIME MINISTER
Oh, god, I think our country is doomed!
