So... my blog was a year old on July 2nd. And I missed it. Happy Birthday, Blog. Well, I missed Chrissy's birthday too. If I forget my old friend's b-day, who would really expect me to remember my blog's b-day. That's what I thought. I also just noticed that since June (perhaps even since May), I've been averaging 3 posts a month. V. not-good. Yeah.

So... I was looking at my sidebar today because I wanted to go to my Archived posts for July 2003 to see when exactly my blog's b-day was. Imagine my surprise when I saw a link to archived posts from July 1 1999 - July 31 1999. Now, when I was 17, back in 1999, my family may have just gotten hooked up to the internet. I sure as hell hadn't heard of blogs at this point. Why, then, did I have posts in July 1999? Well... remember my last post where I was bitching about that previous post that Blogger had eaten? It got regurgitated in 1999. Yeah... my post was sent back to the past. Very strange.

So... I was reading my friend's blogs to see what is new in their lives. Carla is bitching about how I didn't go to see I Robot with her and Lynnsey on the 16th. She neglected to mention that I was seeing Cats with my mom, as I had bought her tickets for her birthday so we could go together. Sorry, but in my mind, spending an evening with my mom at a musical when I spent $85 bucks on tickets (apiece) and had planned the evening for two months was a bit more important than going to a movie when one of my friends called me up last minute on a whim.

On that note... I actually did go and see I Robot with Jen (seldom mentioned here, as she has neither a website nor a blog. Those people are not important). Cute movie... not too terribly surprising. Very much liked the Will-Smith skin show. Also very much liked Sonny, the main... er... Robot. Was very cute. I wanted to hug him. I am seriously considering writing a story to that effect. After I finish my Harry Potter story where I go to Hogwarts. And the one where I smack You-Know-Who upside the head. Yeah.

On another note.... less than 16 hours til the weekend. You see... I get off at 1:30 tomorrow and don't go in on Friday. Extra-long weekend. Yata!! Or whatever Carla says. Yeah. Going now. BYES!!

People may wonder why I haven't been updating my blog very much recently. I tried... I really did try. But there was this problem... one that I have never encountered. I've often read posts from my friends complaining that Blogger ate their most recent post. I've been using Blogger for over a year and have never encountered this problem. Until last week. I went to update my blog and the post got eaten. Was very not-impressed. And it took me this long to get around to even attempting to redo a post.

In not-so-recent news, I not-so-recently had an oral French test at work. You see... I am a bilingual employee, and sometimes deal with French clients on the phone. CRA has a new policy where any bilingual agent who interacts with clients on the phone must have a minimum level of 'C' in oral expression. When I had taken the test in late 2000, I had obtained a 'B'. Now, these testing scores are opposite school. A = Bad, B = Good, C = Better and E = Exempt (from ever having to take the test again). After stressing a bit and a bit of nervousness on the day of the test (Thursday, July 8th), I got a C. Yay me.

I had also not-so-recently read on Chrissy's blog that the 6th HP book is going to be called "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". This, of course, lead to discussions about who the Half-blood Prince could be... since JK already said that it is neither Harry nor Voldemort.

Me: Have you heard about the title for the new HP book?
Lynnsey: Uh... a long time ago. You suck.
Me: Yeah. So... who do you think the Half-blood Prince is gonna be?
Lynnsey: I think it'd be cool if it was Hagrid.
Me: How does that work??? (I'm slow, remember)
Lynnsey: Uh... he's half giant, half human.
Me: Ah... huh. I knew that, but I still couldn't imagine Hagrid being the Half-blood Prince. It just doesn't seem right.
Lynnsey: Who do you think it is?
Me: Meh... dunno.

Now, I personally think it would be cool if Snape was the Half-blood Prince. Don't ask me why... he's evil and sarcastic and a right bastard most of the time... but I always have the tendancy to take the evilistest, most bastardic guys in any given fandom and say... "Huh... I'm sure you're not so bad... you're probably just misunderstood!" Despisable as Snape may be, you kinda can't blame him for being that way sometimes, especially if you learn a bit more about his past. Poor, unloved bastard. "You're that freaky Stephen-King kid that every school has." I think it would be neat if he really was the half-blood prince. 'But, Theresa,' you say. 'Snape's pure-blood! That won't work.' Excuse me, but no one actually went out and said that Snape is pure-blood. Here's how the scenario works in my head.

Harry: Wow, we're really screwed now! Wouldn't it be great if the Half-blood Prince came and saved us all.
Snape: Yo! I'm here to save you all.
Harry: Uh... how does that work? You're pure-blood and you're an evil, slimey git.
Snape: Well, it turns out that I'm not pure-blood. My mum kinda messed around with our milkman, who happened to be a muggle, so, here I am!
Harry: Uh... and you're actually gonna save us? I thought you hated us?
Snape: Well, since I happen to be more special than you, I'm a bit more inclined to want to save you. That way I can gloat and mock you. So, how are things with you, Boy-who-lived-but-isn't-the-half-blood-prince? How does it feel to not be the Half-blood Prince?
Harry: ...

I also had considered the fact that it could be Hermione. Then I realised that it wouldn't work because she's not a man. Not that that stopped me from thinking it could be her. Then I remembered, she's from 100% muggle parentage.  NO MATTER!!! *insert manical grin here*

Harry: Wow, we're really screwed now! Wouldn't it be great if the Half-blood Prince came and saved us all.
Hermione: Yo! I'm here to save you all.
Harry: Uh... how does that work? You're pure-muggle, and you're a girl. You can't be a prince.
Hermione: Well, it turns out that I'm not pure-muggle. My mum kinda messed around with our milkman, who happened to be a wizard, so, here I am!
Harry: Uh... You're still a girl. You can't be a prince.
Hermione: Well, I've got something I've been meaning to tell you. I really am a man. See... I've got a penis and everything.
Ron: So when we... when I... but you said... and, in the shower... *odd gurgling noise* *Ron faints*
Harry: ...

Yeah... I scare even me sometimes.

Well... been a bit since my last post. How've ya been, world? And, yeah, craziness over now.

So... I just did a French Oral test for work... kinda stressful since I had to improve by a level in order to remain competitive in the work place. When I first took the test, I got a B. Now, phone agents need a C level. C=better than B. I'm happy to report that I got my C. GO TEAM ME!!!

Anyways, I just heard about the new Harry Potter title, "Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince". And, by 'just heard about it', I mean, 'I saw it awhile ago on Chrissy's Blog and didn't feel like posting about it until today'. Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

As my friends know, I have very reluctantly become a Harry Potter fan. I once refused to read the books, watch the movie, rolled my eyes whenever anyone mentioned how good the books are. Then Carla and Lynnsey made me watch the second movie. I liked it. Then Lynnsey made me read a fanfic (Draco Malfoy, the Amazing Bouncing... Rat(?)). I liked the fic. Then Lynnsey bought me the first two books for Christmas. I vowed never to read them... then I got bored one day and thought... 'What harm could it do?'

Famous last words.

Now I am anxiously awaiting the release date of the 6th book, and enjoy speculating with my friends. 'Who is the Half-Blood Prince??' We would ask each other. And of couse, we all have interesting ideas. JK says it's not Harry or Voldemort.

Lynnsey: Maybe it's Hagrid.
Me: ... Hagrid??
Lynnsey: Well... he's a half-blood. He's half giant.
Super-Her: Good point, Lynnsey. Take that, Theresa!!!
Me: Uh.. I guess.

Personally, I think it would be cool if it was Snape. I don't think the books have ever come out and said that he's pure-blood. Though, I know, it's silly to even entertain the thought that he's not.

But it'd be neat.

Harry: We're screwed. It'd be great if the Half-Blood Prince showed up right about now to save us.
Snape: Yo!
Harry: Ugh... not you... we need the Half-Blood Prince.
Snape: Uh... yeah, that's me. Turn's out that I'm not a pure-blood wizard after all. My mom kinda messed around with our Muggle milkman... so... TA DAAAAA!
Harry: Uh... you're gonna save us??
Snape: Well, now that I've got some fame and power here, I kinda feel less bitter towards you. So, how's it going, Boy-who-lived-but-isn't-a-Half-Blood-Prince?
Harry: ....

Heh, silly me. I also had another idea... What if the Half-Blood Prince is HERMIONIE?!?!? Yes, there were two problems with this. One: she's not a man, and therefore cannot be a prince. Secondly, and more importantly, both her parents are Muggles. Yeah, the second point really posed a problem. The first point, however, didn't bother me at all.

Harry: We're screwed. It'd be great if the Half-Blood Prince showed up right about now to save us.
Hermionie: Yo!
Harry: Uh... you can't be the Half-Blood Prince... for obvious reasons.
Hermionie: Because I'm a pure Muggle?? Not even. Turns out my mom kinda messed around with our milkman, who happened to be a wizard... so... TA DAAAAA!
Harry: But... you can't be a prince!!
Hermionie: Uh... actually... there's something I need to tell you guys. I've got foam in my bra, and I have a penis! *g*
Ron: So that one time... when we... when I... but, I thought you just LIKED it that way... I didn't even consider that you didn't have... that you weren't... *Ron goes pale*
Harry: ...

Yeah... I know...

*sings*
I'm sick and, I'm twisted,
I'm broke and you can't fix it.
